Annie Leibovitz began her life in art as a student at the San Francisco Art Institute in the 1960s. She started working for founder and editor Jann Wenner of Rolling Stone Magazine in San Francisco, and as they say, the rest is history.
Here are a few friends and subjects who think she is the best at what she does.
In 2016, she returned to the City for an exhibition, and the U.S. premiere, of her “Women: New Portraits” collection of photographs.
Now, her new book called Annie Leibovitz 2005-2016 is out. This follows two other books, Annie Leobovitz: Photographs 1970-1990 and A Photographer’s Life: 1990-2005.
