Politics in the 1960s

It is a political season once again. The process reminds us that maintaining a democracy can be a messy process. We sometimes show the world that the United States can be a very divided nation. But that is not a new idea.

Here is a look back to Richard Nixon, not yet a candidate for president, speaking about the future of the GOP:

Nixon, a Republican, went on to win the 1968 election for President of the United States of America. But there was another conservative candidate who also ran for president that year on the ticket of the American Independent Party. Here is his concession speech:
