Remembering Those Who Served

As we plan to celebrate 239 years as a nation on July 4th, we should pause to remember those who sacrificed all. In 1965, President Lyndon Johnson officially authorized United States ground combat forces to fight in Vietnam. By the war’s end in 1975, 2.5 million Americans would serve. One of the most recognizable sounds from the Vietnam War years is that of a Huey helicopter. Here is my friend Wayne Terry, and his friends, explaining what the organization Huey Vets does:

I was lucky enough to catch a ride in this Huey. It was an amazing experience. Wayne and his friends discovered that for some Vietnam War Vets, getting close to a Huey can be a healing experience. We lost Wayne in 2013. Here is a tribute to him, and he has a message for us:
