SF Giants Baseball!

It is baseball season once again! In 1967, KSFO was the radio home of the SF Giants. Here is a tribute from a fan who grew up wanting to be an announcer.

This is what we used to hear:

Russ Hodges retired after the 1970 season and died in 1971. Lon Simmons continued to broadcast the Giants games with Bill Thompson through the 1973 season. He returned to Giants baseball in May of 2006. He died in 2015. The radio booth at AT&T park is named after Simmons and Hodges.

Here is a clip from 8 mm film taken by a baseball fan. This includes some street scenes of San Francisco in 1967.
