To Act or Not to Act with A.C.T.

In 1967, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) became one of San Francisco’s first year-round resident theater companies. As a nonprofit organization, they continue to offer a full schedule of plays and also support an acting school.

A few of A.C.T.’s more famous alumni include: Annette Bening; Benjamin Bratt; Nicolas Cage; Danny Glover; Harry Hamlin; Teri Hatcher; and Denzel Washington.

As a part of the acting school, ACT offers a 15-week course called, “The San Francisco Semester.”
