The Presidio of San Francisco was established in 1776 as a Spanish fortress in Alta California and now it is a National Park. In the 1960s, it was a military installation and the site of anti-war demonstrations.
Here is a clip of the Memorial Day parade at the Presidio with horses, brass bands, vintage cars and some vintage uniforms. This looks like the kind of celebration you might see in a small town.
My story about Wayne Terry is included in my book, “Truth and Love.” Here is Wayne and the other Vietnam vets who are working to preserve the history of their service at Camp Bear Cat in Vietnam.
Wayne is no longer with us. The organization, EMU, Inc., is a nonprofit, is in the Bay Area and is worthy of your support.
